This is a hard to find large fruit bowl believed to be New Martinsville Glass. The color didn't come out well in the photos, it is a true deep ruby red color. It is about 9 1/2" across and 6" high..... It is a heavy glass with ruffled edges on top. The bottom is on a round pedestal..... This is a very pretty piece and a great addition to any Ruby Red Collection...... The hystory behind New Martinville/Viking Glass is as follows..... In 1944 the New Martinsville Glass Company changed it's name to the Viking Glass Company and continued to produce very nice quality glassware. Many New Martinsville molds were kept in use at Viking. The company became Dalzell Viking about 1986, and ceased production in April 1998.
