Westmoreland Milk Glass Sugar Bowl with Lid..... This handsome deeply cut milk glass bowl with an 8-point top rim was manufactured by Westmoreland Glass in the Old Quilt pattern (Line #500) ca 1940. This pattern is also sometimes referred to as Checkerboard, and for good reason. The exterior does look something like a checkerboard with its all-over pattern of squares containing exceptionally detailed geometrics, and the squares themselves being surrounded by four mitered diamonds. The exterior bottom is similarly detailed, and the circle at the center of the sunflower design. The bowl stands 3" tall with a top diameter of 4-1/2" and a base diameter of 3" without lid. It is 6 ј" tall x 5" across with lid....... This is a rare find. Usually can only be found without the lid.
